What was the situation? What was needed?
As an experienced Head of HR, my client was facing a new boss who she found challenging, in a long standing business that had made a number of acquisitions which were creating people challenges. She was ambitious for the “difference” she wanted to make for her business and also herself, wanting to be promoted to Director level.
What we did?
A programme of six coaching sessions over 11 months, supporting my client to build new skills and resources to face into her challenges and really tune into what she wanted / needed.
What was the result?
My client described feeling she had grown through the coaching, and started to advocate for braver decisions within her business and for herself. As her career had primarily been with the same employer, we experimented with how she could undertake more strategic activity to the business (i.e. tackling their forthcoming talent problem, as many senior people were shortly due to retire). Following the coaching, her contributions were recognised with promotion to Director of People & Culture.
