Busy by Tony Crabbe

November 2016

For me this book, made me really think about the reasons why I say “busy” when someone asks me how I am.  It is a sobering read inviting you to consider how our habits get in the way of the work we really want to be doing.  With lots of practical advice, I am currently trying to rewire my habits (it hurts!). So where have I starting:

  • Doing the hard stuff first thing – rather than being lured into thinking that getting something quick and easy off my list will give me impetus.
  • Not believing the myth of multitasking.  I can get easy distracted by something new and shiny but I resist the urge and focus on finishing what I started.
  • Stopping judging myself that reading and watching videos that may not help me get something crossed off the list isn’t useful.
